The Turku Art Museum on the map
The Turku Art Museum granite palace is located at the heart of Turku. It manifests itself on the Puolala Hill at Aurakatu 26. Looking from the city market place, the museum's granite facade rises at the end of the street. Coming from Rauhakatu the museum is accessible through the beautiful Puolala Park. Visitors arriving by car can easily find a parking space along the streets nearby, or at the subterranean parking, literally under the museum.
Main entrance is located at the top of solid stairs in the middle of the facade. The handle on the door is a bronze sculpture ”Tiger” by Greta Dahlström. The handicap entrance is to the right of the main entrance.
The museum yard is reserved for the personnel and handicap parking, which is situated to the right of the main entrance. Paid parking space can be found around the museum and under the Puolala Park, Parking Louhi (entrance at Läntinen Pitkäkatu 12b). Exits at and lifts to both sides of the market place. More parking space along Tuureporinkatu.
By Bus or Train
Local busses 1, 11, 110, 13, 18, 19, 2, 22, 28, 32, 6, 61 stop at Maariankatu, below the museum, next to the Aurakatu crossing.
5-10 min. walk from the bus station and the main railway station.
